Aiden's Birthday

We had another birthday party to go to today. Aiden, my friend Heather's son, turned 3 and we celebrated at Hoots. Hoots is like a Monkey Joes for all you Georgians. We had a blast. Luckily, Ryan was able to come because I certainly could not climb in all those tunnels and bounce on the jump jumps. I was exhausted just watching them. I really think Griffin had the best time of his life today. He was pooped when we left. Here are some pics of our fun morning.

32 weeks

We hit 32 weeks today for little Miss Ansley! I can't believe that in less than two months we will see our baby girl. March 19th is just around the corner.

She has been such a joy to carry, very calm. We are so blessed to be bringing a little girl into our family. I just can't wait to meet her.

Aryssa's Birthday

My friend Clara's daughter, Aryssa, turned two the other day and we went to her birthday last night. We enjoyed hanging out with them and watching the kids play.

Griffin found the only tractor in their house! He played with it all night.
Enjoying some yummy cake with Mama.

Blow Out

Ryan was driving home from a day trip for work yesterday and had a major blow out. As you can see, it looks like the tire just exploded. Luckily, he changed it and the spare was good to go. He took it this morning to get a new one. I am anxious to hear what they say happened. Pretty scary!

18 Month Well Check

Griffin had his 18 month well check this morning. He is doing great. He is 26.5 pounds (70th percentile), 31 inches tall (20th percentile) and 48 1/2 head circumference (75th percentile). Poor boy is still short and chunky. But we like it like that! :) The doctor said that he is growing perfectly at his rate. He definitely excels at many of the milestones the doctor asked about. He's just perfect!

We went to the ABQ zoo today with some of my buddies and their kiddos. It was our first time, so it was nice to see everything. I think we will probably get a pass (which includes the aquarium, zoo and botanical gardens). The weather was actually really great and it was not crowded at all.

18 Months

Griffin is 18 months old today, one and a half years! Where in the world does the time go? I am really enjoying him at this age. He is so much fun and communicates so well. He does wear me out (probably has a little to do with being pregnant too), but I would not trade it for anything in the world. He truly is the best child. It is kind of unbelievable. He just goes with the flow. Here are a few things he is up to at this age:

-He is still a great sleeper. He goes to bed about 8pm and sleeps until 7am. He naps once a day for about 2.5-3 hours.

-He is such a big boy. He sleeps in his big boy bed and made the transition with ease! He doesn't have a pacifier anymore and also made that transition very easy.
-He loves books.

-He has become a little bit of a picky eater. He would be perfectly content eating chicken nuggets, fries, grilled cheese and hot dogs every day (although mom is not satisfied with those choices). I told Ryan the other day, that I am not going to be a short order cook, so he needs to warm up to the idea of eating what we eat. I'll keep you posted on how that goes.

-He loves trucks, tractors and cars. He will push them around for days.
-Milk does a body good! He is not a fan of juice, so he pretty much just drinks milk and water.

-We have recently just started letting him watch TV a little bit every day. Not in a large quantity, but we usually turn on part of a movie (he loves Walle and Cars) and watch it as a family before bed.

-He is a talker. I can not even list the number of words that he says. Everyone is so impressed with his vocabulary as am I. He is not a signer and I am to blame for that. I really didn't try to teach him but a few. I would much rather him use his words. The only two that he uses regularly are "finished" and "love you."

-He is very polite. He says please and thank you most of the time without me having to tell him to.

-He gives the best kisses (or tiss as he says). He will just walk up and give you one. So sweet!

-He is my shopping buddy. He loves to ride in the buggy and every time we even pass by walmart or target, he says buggy please.

-He's a Mama's Boy! And I LOVE it!
We really think Griffin is the best kid in the world! Of course, we are a little bias. He is doing great. He makes us laugh all the time and is so much fun. He is truly my little buddy. We are so lucky to be his parents. I can't wait to see how great of a big brother he is.

Two months from today, we will welcome our sweet baby girl to the world (assuming she doesn't come earlier). Yesterday, the doctor scheduled her delivery since I will be having another c-section. Ryan and I looked at the calendar and couldn't believe it was only two months away. We are ecstatic to bring this little lady into our lives. Griffin is going to be the best big brother!

Ansley, we can't wait to meet you!!

Batter Up!

While my mom was in town, we found Griffin this little tee ball set. We thought it would be something fun for Griffin and Ryan to do as well as watch him as he really learns how to hit the ball. The weather has been pretty nice this weekend, so we took advantage and went out back to show him his new toy.
He actually got the hang of it pretty quickly.

He also had fun playing with the rest of his outdoor toys.

Big Boy Bed

We decided that we would start putting Griffin in his big boy bed this weekend. Well, last night was the first night and he did great. He woke up about 11:30pm crying, but I think he just didn't know where he was. We got him calmed down pretty quickly and didn't hear a peep out of him until morning.

I did go in there this morning and found him laying like this. :) Check out his expression, mom it is a little too early for pictures. But I had to capture the big boy moment! Our boy is growing up!

Little Gym Graduation

Nana's visit also corresponded with Griffin's Little Gym "Graduation." It was the last class of the semester and they did a little award ceremony at the end. It was really cute. My mom really enjoyed seeing him interact with other kiddos.

He looks like an Olympian in his little track suit!

Nana's Visit

Ryan had to go out of town for work this week and I happened to ask my mom (Nana) if she would be interested in coming out. Well, she had some sky miles and cashed them in and came to spend the week with me and Griffin! We were SO excited to have her. It was her first time visiting since we moved out here, so it was a treat for all!

We kept busy! She helped me finish up a few things in the house and we shopped till we dropped.

Furniture shopping (we didn't come home with anything, but had fun!)

Ready for a walk (it pretty chilly out)
Hamming it up with Nana again before heading to the airport
All the shopping wore him out! He wouldn't even wake up to tell her bye at the airport.

Thanks so much for coming to visit Mom! We had so much fun and hope you did as well. Can't wait to see you again in two months to welcome our little lady to the family!
