Birthday Boy!

Today is Ryan's 31st!! Happy Birthday, Baby! I wanted to jot down on some of the things I love most about him.

-He's a hard worker. He is passionate about what he does and takes pride in it. I know I never need to worry about being provided for. I am so thankful that while he is out working hard, I get to work hard at home taking care of our beautiful children.

-He's a great father. He's very hands-on. It's no surprise why Griffin lights up when he gets home. I am sure Ansley will be the same way. Plus, he is the world's best diaper changer. :)

-He's Mr. Fix It! He is such a handyman.

-He's my best friend. It's as simple as that.

-He's a guys guy. No sissy boy here, he is such a manly man and I love it!

-He is smart. I love that I can ask him to explain just about anything to me. He's full of random information. If he doesn't know how to do something, he figures it out. He watches the Discovery, History and Science channel while I am watching my celebrity gossip crap. :)

-Most of all, he's mine! I love you!!

What We've Been Up To

As you can imagine, we have been lounging at home and enjoying time with our kids. My mom is still in town and has been a HUGE help! Good news, Ansley's weight was up an ounce and a half at the doctor yesterday so we are back on track! Thank goodness! Here are some pictures of what we have been up to....

Our sweet little princess
Griffin has been enjoying all the extra attention that comes with being a big brother!
He even is playing a little dress up!

He is especially helpful with Sissy's pass (the pacifier)
He loves to touch her and give her kisses
He wants to cuddle with her too! No, Ryan is snoozing, just a mishap with the shot. I couldn't pass the picture up though! :)

Little Ansley

I wanted to update everyone on how we are doing at home with little Ansley. Things are going good. We took her to the doctor yesterday for her newborn check and below are her stats.

Weight: 7 lbs 4.5 ozs (50th percentile)
Height: 20 1/2 cm (80th percentile)
Head Circ: 36 1/2 (80th percentile)

Can you believe that my child is in the 80th percentile for her height?? Poor Griffy! I am sure it wont last too long, but I had to document while we have proof.

Her weight loss is a problem (she was 8.2). My milk just came in, so the doctor told us to supplement with formula until it did. We actually have to go back in today for a weight check, so we will see. Please say a little prayer that she didn't lose anymore.

She is really a great baby! Nights have been a little challenging (but what isn't with a newborn), but last night with the exception of about an hour stretch was really good.

Griffin Meets Ansley

They finally got to meet about 1pm on Sunday. We got the all clear from the doctors and made our way home so Griffin could meet his little sister. He was so excited to see Ryan and I at home. He yelled Mama when I walked in, Ryan followed with Ansley. Ryan picked him up and showed him his little sister. He said "Baby!" He gave her sweet kisses and couldn't stop checking her out.

They got a little more comfortable on the couch for more kisses

So proud to be a big brother!
This morning we put Ansley in the swing to see if she would like it (it was Griffin's favorite thing) and I think Griffin had flash backs from the music. He got all tired and started rubbing his eyes. He just layed on the floor and watcher her swing. Too cute!

Ansley in the hospital

Here are a few more pics of Miss Ansley in the hospital. She is just too cute!

My friend Jill came to visit her!
It may be a little while before this flower looks right. :)
Headed home to meet her big brother

Ansley Elizabeth Beals 3.19.10

She's here! Ansley Elizabeth Beals was born 3.19.10 at 7:54 am. Weighing in at 8 pounds 2 ounces and 20 inches long. The delivery was great. It is much easier when you don't go through 18 hours of labor. She came out crying and just perfect! All the nurses are complimentary about how great she is. She is actually nursing very well (knock on wood). If you don't know, I had some major problems with Griffin and it never worked out. Say a little prayer that the success continues. She has quite a bit of blonde hair and dark blue eyes. She seems to be pretty calm so far.

As for me, I am doing very well. Much better than the first time around. I have already been up walking around the room and don't seem to be having as much pain as with Griffin. I did have some nausea issues earlier and threw up several times, but seem to have gotten over that.

Nana came by this afternoon to meet her Granddaughter while Ryan and Griffin had a dinner date. Unfortunately, the hospital does not allow visitors under the age of 14 during flu season (which ends April 1). So, Griffy wont be able to meet his little sister until we get home. Hopefully, we will go home Sunday afternoon, Monday morning at the latest.

They would not allow cameras in the operating room, so we had to capture most of the pictures in the recovery and our room. Sorry for all the pictures, but I wanted to make sure to capture them all! I am sure there will be plenty more to come too!

Family of Three

Today was the last day of our family of three, tomorrow is our first day as a family of four. I just can't get over how lucky I am now and how even more lucky I will be tomorrow. We are so excited to welcome our daughter into our lives. We are scheduled to be at the hospital at 5:30am and to deliver around 7:30am. I promise to post pictures of Ansley as soon as I can.

Our little family of three
We attempted to get some family pictures today while at the park.

I am crying like a baby (no pun intended) right now. ;)
