Me and my little man had a date today to see Toy Story 3. It was his first time at the movies and he did really well. We only had to get up and walk around once, about an hour into it. It was really nice to be able to hang out with just my little buddy for a few hours. Big thanks to Ryan for taking care of Ansley while we had our date!
We had a play date today for the "Rockstars," which is Griffin's age group through moms club. It was at Andrea's house and it was a messy play date. She had pudding, homemade play dough, water, dirt and shaving cream for the kids to play with. It was fun to see the kids get all messy.
Griffin didn't get very into it. He took a little convincing. I am sure before too long I won't be able to keep him out of all the fun stuff. Ansley had fun. She rode in the bjorn and then sacked out. I did manage to get a few pics.

Cody had a little too much fun with the shaving cream
I wanted to give everyone a little update on how Ansley is doing and what has been going on. As you know, we have been having a tough time with her. She just cried and cried. This past Thursday, she felt a little warm that morning, I took her temp and it was only 99.4, but that is unusual for her. So, I called Ryan and said I wonder if she has an ear infection. I had already planned on calling the doctor that morning to get her an appointment because I just knew in my heart something else was wrong besides just colic. I end up crying at the doctor, because I just don't know what was wrong with her!
So, the diagnosis from the doc: an EAR INFECTION (as Ryan said, trust your motherly instincts) and a severe case of reflux. He put her on antibiotics for the ear infection and we got some other medicine for the reflux. It is like a chalk that is supposed to coat her throat and help with the burning. She only weighted 10.4 pounds, which means that she was not eating enough. Doc said that it is probably because it hurts her to eat (she has been nursing good for like 5 minutes then screaming and would not go back on). So, he suggested we give her a little formula to help with the weight gain.
Well, we have a different baby! Yeah, she still cries, but NOTHING like before. I don't know if it is the combination of all the different stuff or what.
We went back to the doctor yesterday for a follow up. They were so excited to see me smiling! The child gained a little over a pound in 6 days! I think the girl was hungry. Doc said to keep it up and call him if we need him.
I think one of the main things is that she was not getting enough to eat. She would gobble up 4 ounces of formula after nursing, so she really cant be getting that much. I guess I am just not meant to nurse. But, hey, she got 3 months, which I understand is the most crucial time. I am going to start the stopping process soon. It is just doing more harm than good, so whatever makes her feel best is the most important thing. So, needless to say, this is a much happier house. Little Miss Ansley will be 3 months old tomorrow! I have to admit, I am glad to be getting out of the newborn stage and on to the baby stage. Now on to other things, like getting her to sleep in her bed! Yikes! :)
Yesterday was my 28th birthday! Man, I am getting old! ;) It was the best birthday. Nothing crazy, just time with my family and friends. Ryan was so sweet all day! He had the house decorated when I got up with balloons and streamers. He even had me a party princess hat and sparkly pink flip flops! Ryan made me the most thoughtful photo album with pictures over the last two years. It was awesome to look through hard copies of them (I never print any of them anymore). He made breakfast and we went to lunch as a fam. Thanks baby for making it so special!
The party crew first thing in the morning
Ryan got me the most beautiful and delicious cake from a local bakery He wouldn't stop staring at the candles :)
I love cake! One thing I did ask for for my birthday was to go have a drink with the girls. We had a great time. Thank yall for joining in the fun with me!
It was a great birthday and 28 is going to be a good year!
Ryan gave Griffin a summer do this morning. It was our first attempt at an at home hair cut. Griffin was less than thrilled about it. In fact, he was pissed off! He kept saying thank you, so that we would stop, at least he is polite while screaming his head off. But to look as cute as he does above, you have to go through the below. :)
We have had a fun week! Ryan had to go out of town for a few days this week. Well, we were supposed to go with him, but I didn't feel like being in a hotel room with a screaming baby and antsy toddler. I would rather do that in the comfort of my own home. So, we opted to stay here. We kept ourselves busy.
We had a park date on Tuesday with the moms club. This is Ansley and her future BFF Elizabeth. They are only 5 days apart!
Nikki and her crew brought over pizza for dinner one night. Griffin and Adyn playing and enjoyed watching Cars.
We hit up Costco....
Griffin wanting his picture taken
Our sweet baby girl!
We made cupcakes.... He wasn't too sure about the mixer Ate some cupcakes
And then to finish the weekend off, we had another park date yesterday. This park had a water fountain that squirted up from the ground. Griffin was so interested in it, but just couldn't get the courage to go in. He did get sprayed a few times.
We had a nice relaxing weekend. We got Griffin a little pool for the backyard and he loves it. We went over to my friend Nikki's house (from moms club) on Sunday and enjoyed some delicious enchiladas and margaritas. She has a son that turned 2 in April and a daughter that is 5 days older than Ansley. We all had a great time and look forward to hanging out with them again soon. Here are some pics of our little swimmer.
I have been married to my best friend, Ryan, since 2006 and we welcomed our first son Griffin in July of 2008. We welcomed our baby girl Ansley in March of 2010.
We moved from Atlanta to Albuquerque, NM and remained there for 3 years. Ryan's work transfered us to Texas and we are now living in the Dallas area. Ryan has an amazing job as a roofing saleman and this allows me to be a stay at home mom.
I created this blog to allow our family and friends to keep up with our daily lives. Thanks for checking in on us!
