Griffin is 2 1/2 today! He is fully in his terrible twos, but can be the sweetest boy when he wants to be! Some things about Griff right now:
-His favorite cartoon is Mickey Mouse Clubhouse -He is potty trained (amen!) -He wears a size 7 or 8 shoe -Wears a 24 months or 2T pants and a 2t or 3t shirt -He is an AWESOME big brother -He is a big fan of the words no and stop. We are working on that! -His favorite foods: goldfish, chicken nuggets, mac and cheese, apples, bananas, blueberries, peas, pizza, peaches -He continues to love to play with cars, well anything with wheels -He loves to rough house with his daddy, but is such a mama's boy! -He can sing twinkle twinkle little star (as long as no one is listening, he gets shy) -He is not the best at sharing (working on that too) -He is one funny dude! Cracks us up all the time with the things he does and says (see pic above) -He talks in the third person all the time and it drives me crazy. We are working on I and me. -He loves sports. Loves to play tennis, soccer, baseball and catch with daddy
He is such a blessing in our lives and we love him more and more everyday!
This morning was Griffin's first dentist appointment. I'm just going to say it, it did not go well. We never made it to cleaning his teeth and when the dentist came to actually take a look, he was having NONE of that. The hygienist said that was how most kids his age react on their first visit (that or she was just trying to make me feel better). He has a cold too, which doesnt make matters any better. The dentist did get to take a look, amongst the crying and said his teeth look great. We will be back in 6 months to try again.
I do think that the hygienist could have been more friendly with Griff. I thought she would be all over him, winning him over. She didn't hardly speak to either of us. So, like I said, we will try again in 6 months, hopefully with a different hygienist.
He did get a toothbrush and cover. He was pretty proud of that!
He's outta here
Meanwhile, the little missy had a play date (actually it was a pajama party) with Ms. Moira and BFF Molly. Moira was generous enough to keep Ansley while I took Griffin to the dentist (daddy had to go to Santa Fe for the day). Moira said they had a blast! She said it was so fun to just see the girls play with out "the boss" around. :) Here are some pics from Moira
Ansley Elizabeth is 10 months old today! I can not believe in just two short months we will be celebrating her very first birthday! She is such a precious little angel and we love her more and more each day. This last month has been pretty a big one for our little missy. She started crawling, says dada and the occasional mama or mommy, her top tooth finally broke through today, she's standing more on her own, she is drinking out of a straw sippy cup and more things that I can not think of right now! :)
He continues to LOVE her big brother and is doing a much better job of keeping up with him and fighting for what she wants!
She gets around just great! Literally, no one can make her laugh like he does! They like to make messes too!
I just realized that I never posted anything about one of the most important things going on in Griffin's life. He is POTTY TRAINED!! Our method of choice was the 3 day potty training. We did this the day after Thanksgiving (so he's been using the potty for almost 2 months, bad mom I know!). We were basically on lock down in the house for 3 days. Could not let the child out of our sight for three whole days! Well, prior to these 3 days, he had NEVER used the potty before.
The method was a success (to a degree). He "got it" after three days. I would not have considered him potty trained though. About two weeks or so and less than a handful of accidents later, he is potty trained.
He is SO good about telling us when he has to go and is such a big boy. He is seriously the miracle child when it comes to transitioning stuff. I can only hope Ansley will be this "easy."
We went to Red Light Green Light with some friends today. It is a play area with different themes throughout the room. They had a truck ball pit (Griffin's personal favorite), a restaurant, animal hospital, grocery store and several other things.
Ryan and his long time BFF Travis went to the BCS Championship game in Arizona. Ryan went to the University of Oregon during part of his college career, and the Ducks have always been his team. So, when he found out that they were going to be a short 6 hours away, he jumped all over it. Travis is a season ticket holder and was able to get tickets.
Ryan said he had an AWESOME time! He hadn't been to a college football game in like 10 years.
I told him he HAD to take pics for my blog! Here you go....
Ryan and Travis tailgating
They were able to park pretty close to the stadium
Although the Ducks didn't win, it was the chance of a lifetime to go. It was a GREAT game. I am so glad he had fun. I am a little jealous I didn't get to go. :)
I have been married to my best friend, Ryan, since 2006 and we welcomed our first son Griffin in July of 2008. We welcomed our baby girl Ansley in March of 2010.
We moved from Atlanta to Albuquerque, NM and remained there for 3 years. Ryan's work transfered us to Texas and we are now living in the Dallas area. Ryan has an amazing job as a roofing saleman and this allows me to be a stay at home mom.
I created this blog to allow our family and friends to keep up with our daily lives. Thanks for checking in on us!
